Welcome to my version of a destination guide! This is not intended to be treated as a guide, per se. It’s simply a collection of places that I enjoyed visiting and photographing during a trip. Hopefully it will encourage you, dearest readers, to go out and find your own Favorite Corners during your travels. Wherever you venture, I hope you’ll do so with the intention to learn inquisitively, ask courteously, and enjoy respectfully.
Our three nights in Menorca earlier this month flew by. We easily could’ve spread everything we saw and did over a full week, but we’re gluttons for cramming as much as possible into a short time frame. The island excels at laid-back hospitality in unique settings, and service almost always comes with a smile. At most of the restaurants, bars, and venues we visited, the door staff and servers were genuinely warm and welcoming—a refreshing change from the upturned noses or blank stares we encountered multiple times in Ibiza. There’s still a real sense of discovery here, rather than everyone piling into the same hotspots for bragging rights. We stumbled across some genuine gems that we’d happily return to next time—and there will absolutely be a next time!
